Arsene Wenger Confirms Signing Of Lucas Perez And Shkodran Mustafi.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed to Sky Sports the captures of defender Shkodran Mustafi and attacker Lucas Perez.
Mustafi comes in from Valencia and Perez from Deportivio, reportedly for £35million and £17m respectively.

Arsene Wenger said: “We have bought two players in Mustafi and Lucas Perez. We have a good little break now and we can help them to join the squad.

“Lucas Perez is not in the Spanish national team so can join straight away but for Mustafi we have to wait until after the break because he goes with Germany.

“I don’t think so. First of all we have a very big squad and we’ve spent a lot of money as well. We had to work very hard to get these two signings done. I expected it to last until Tuesday but fortunately it unlocked very quickly on Friday. We don’t have any plans for anyone else now.”

Ozil, Sanchez Score In Arsenal 3-1 Win Over Watford

Arsenal got their first win of the season, after beating Watford 3-1 at Vicarage Road. Sanchez was involved in all three goals.

The Chilean was brought down in the box, with Cazorla converting the resulting penalty. Sanchez doubled the lead with a lucky goal.

The third goal was all about vision and pinpoint accuracy from Sanchez, as the forward found Ozil to head in the third goal for Arsenal.

Watford were given hope of a comeback early in the second half thanks to debutant Roberto Pereyra’s goal, and Petr Cech pulled off a strong double save to keep out efforts from Jose Holebas and Odion Ighalo.

Chelsea Maintain Perfect Start With 3-0 Win

Chelsea dominated proceedings from the onset against Burnley, with Eden Hazard playing a key role in the 3-0 win.

Hazard opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge with a beautiful run that ended with a strike from 20 yards out.

The Blues sat deep in the first half, controlled the game and hit Burnley on the counter. Willian got the second for Chelsea with a classy finish after an insightful pass from Costa.

Pedro and Victor Moses combined for the latter to score the third after 89 minutes – his first league goal for the club since November 2012.

Michy Batshuayi Says I Must Change My Style To Fit English Premier League.

Michy Batshuayi believes he must adapt his style to fit the English Premier League.

The Belgium international joined Chelsea from Marseille despite being linked with several other clubs.

He stated Hazard and Dembele already warned him about the competitive nature of the English Premier League ahead of his debut season.

Batshuayi told Sky Sports News HQ: “They told me it was a very physical league, and it was one that was very competitive, where you could win and lose.

“I need to work at that, adapting my style of football to the style here. In the teams I’ve been at, I’ve been really well received.

“Here I’ve had a good reception but I think there’s a lot of listening involved, you really do have to listen.
“There’s a lot of big players and that’s the difference from when I was in Marseille, and I have to try and learn from them.”

Valencia And Arsenal Finally Agree £35 Million Fee For Skhodran Mustafi

Arsenal are in advanced negotiations with Valencia to sign defender Skhodran Mustafi. The fee is believed to be in the region of £35m.

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has been under pressure to strengthen his defensive options after long-term injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel, with Mustafi identified as the Frenchman’s No1 target weeks ago.

Having initially bid around £20m for the 24-year-old, negotiations have continued since then and an agreement was finally reached on Thursday, with Mustafi set for a medical before the weekend having agreed personal terms with the club.

Arsenal have already spent £35m on Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka and outlayed around £9m combined on defender Rob Holding, forward Takuma Asano and midfielder Kelechi Nwakali.

French Club Nice Ready To Sign Unwanted Liverpool Striker Mario Balotelli

Nice are the latest side to test the water over a deal for unwanted Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.

The Ligue 1 club have held talks with the Merseysiders about the Italy international, who was not at the Reds’ Melwood training ground on Thursday having been given permission to speak to the French side.

However, a deal is still some way off as no fee has been agreed and coach Lucien Favre has certain expectations of the 26-year-old, who is surplus to requirements at Anfield and is not in manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

“I don’t know him personally, but if he runs and wants to help the youngsters, then why not?” Favre told a press conference. “If he doesn’t want to run, then there’s no way he’ll come here.”

Ronaldo Named Uefa Best Player Of The Year

Real Madrid and Portugal talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo has been named UEFA best player of the year.

The Portugal international won the award ahead of teammate Gareth Bale and Atletico’s Griezmann.

Cristiano scored the winning spotkick for Madrid in the UCL final, after scoring 16 goals in 12 matches.

The former Manchester United star scored a total of 54 goals in La Liga, the Champions League and the European Championship, far outstripping his rivals.

“It’s a great honour and thanks to the journalists for voting for me,” he said.

“My team-mates are the key – they are the key every year. I work hard myself but without the help of my team-mates this would not be possible. Thanks to my team-mates from Real Madrid and Portugal.”

“I have to mention Portugal because it was the first in their history. It was different because I’ve won the Champions League three times. To win something with Portugal was the highlight of my career.”

Bale netted 19 league goals and also played a key role in guiding Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 while Griezmann helped France to the final on home turf, scoring six goals in addition to the 29 he had bagged for his club.

Ronaldo will now hope to be crowned the best player in the world at the Ballon d’Or ceremony at the end of the year, with Lionel Messi the current holder of the prize.

Empire Getting Sued By Juvenile Prisoners

With a month to the third season of Empire, two episodes from the last season are the cause of a lawsuit filed over filming at a Chicago juvenile centre.

A couple of the teenage juvenile detention center inmates say their ‘home away from home’ was taken from them when Terrence Howard’s ‘Lucious Lyon’ and Chris Rock’s ‘Frank Gathers’ arrived at the prison to shoot scenes from season two’s premiere episodes.

According to them, the detention center was placed on lock-down for nearly 2 weeks of shooting, with no access to the library, chapel, recreational center and even family visits were interrupted.

“The actions, omissions, and conduct of the Defendants as set forth in this complaint were extreme and outrageous” the suit added. It also notes that while residents were in “psychologically damaging” situations of being kept in their cells or crammed into a dayroom with nothing to do,Empire was filming episodes that would earn it $750,000 per 30 second advertising spot in Episode 1 and $600,000 per 30 second spot in Episode 2.”

As part of the relief, the plaintiffs are seeking for themselves and up to 400 other class members those profits Fox made from the filming of the episodes that took place at the center.

“These actions were rooted in an abuse of power and authority and were undertaken with the intent to cause , or were in reckless disregard of the probability that their conduct would cause severe emotional distress to the children housed at the Juvenile Treatment Detention Center” the 37-page suit read.

They’re suing Fox, Cook County and the Warden.
